About this Video
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Joanna Lohman has reached the pinnacle of her sport but the journey to become a professional soccer player has been anything but smooth. With minimal salaries, no job security, and constant instability, the women’s professional soccer reality is an uncomfortable one. Joanna’s willingness to persevere through difficult circumstances has proven that following your dreams and doing what you love is worth any sacrifice.
Joanna Lohman is a professional soccer player for the Boston Breakers and co-founder of JoLi Academy, an organization that aims to raise the social status of women using soccer as its vehicle.
