About the Speaker
Andi Hanako is an electronic musician with roots in Tokyo, Colorado, and the Okinawan islands. To learn the indigenous languages of her home islands spoken by her elder family members and to be able to share the musical stories of her people, Andi composes dance music that featured indigenous Okinawan songs. Andi is humbled and honored to be in Massachusetts while studying indigenous language revitalization through music at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
