Simon Kim

Architect, Associate Professor at University of Pennsylvania

Simon is an architect and designer in the partnership of Ibañez Kim. He has graduate degrees from the AA and MIT. He has worked for Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry, and at SOM London. Work with Bill Mitchell on energy networks and machine architecture led to a Research Associate position at the MIT Design Lab.

Simon is an Associate Professor at PennDesign, and Director of the Immersive Kinematics Research Group. He was visiting faculty at Yale School of Architecture in 2016 and 2013, and in 2012 he was visiting faculty at Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has previously taught workshops and courses at the AA and MIT.

Simon holds professional registration as Architect in the states of California and Massachusetts, and the province of Ontario.
