CEO at Stealth Mode Robotics Company
Sam has built advanced robotics platforms for a range of markets, including subsea, military, nuclear and industrial applications. In addition to his deep technical expertise, he understands how to translate research into a robust industrial product. He is the former CEO of NGX Bio, a translational genomics company spun out from Stanford University. Prior to launching NGX Bio, Sam was an executive with QinetiQ, leading teams to deliver robots, instruments and contract research. QinetiQ’s ‘Talon’ robot transitioned from a DARPA R&D program to an installed based of 4,400 systems, credited with saving many lives. In various executive roles, Sam helped grow Bluefin Robotics from launch to acquisition by Battelle. Bluefin produces unmanned underwater vehicles used worldwide by Navies, offshore survey companies, and the oceanographic research community. Sam holds two Masters degrees from MIT where he worked on a robotic tuna fish.
