Khahlil Louisy

Data, Economics, & Development Policy program at MIT

An applied theorist and empirical economist, Khahlil’s work focuses on using robust data analysis techniques and the theories of economics, to better understand the complex issues of poverty. He has worked on economic development projects in India, Kenya, Ethiopia, Mexico, and Bangladesh. Specifically, his work has focused on areas of education reform, healthcare, and financial systems – vital inputs to achieving positive long-term outcomes for people in developing countries.

Khahlil is also passionate about media and information and served as the Founder and Editor-in-chief of BONNE Media Group. He has also been Creative Director on a number of luxury fashion editorial spreads and advertising campaigns, working with luxury fashion brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Ralph Lauren, and Armani, among others.

He continues to support a number of projects promoting social change, including criminal justice reform and equitable rights of vulnerable groups, including ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+, and women.

Khahlil believes strongly that all dogs are good boys and girls and deserve all the pats and treats.
