Chris Collins is a versatile entrepreneur who’s honed his communication and marketing skills over the past two decades working in television, radio, business, and in support the philanthropic community. Collins hit the Boston sports scene in 1998 and quickly made a name for himself by scoring exclusive live interviews and breaking high profile stories. He was promoted to the lead sports anchor at NECN in 2002, becoming the first lead sports anchor of color in the Boston market and hosting Sports Late Night with Chris Collins until 2010 when he was named the primary sports anchor for Comcast Sports Net. He has been recognized by the Associated Press.
Collins is currently a topical contributor at NECN and WGBH Collins has applied his marketing acumen to a diverse array of businesses – including infection control products and a child care center – with great success. He has developed business and marketing plans and solicited investors to seed new businesses. His unique skill-set has made him a highly sought after resource for Boston’s philanthropic community, where he has utilized his expertise to raise millions of dollars for organizations such as the American Red Cross, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Room to Grow, Understanding Cam for Autism, and the Jimmy Fund.
Collins has served as the Associate Director of Athletics for External Business Development and Marketing at University of Massachusetts, Boston where he was responsible for raising capital for their newly formed Sports Leadership program. Collins was instrumental in securing a five million dollar pledge from the titled sponsor New Balance Collins currently is a financial representative under the Northwestern Mutual umbrella where he leads a team that focuses on tax mitigation vehicles and planning for high net worth Individuals and businesses’ A native of Peabody, Massachusetts, Collins graduated from Temple University where he played baseball.
