One of the best things at TEDxBeaconStreet is the amazing diversity of our audience. This year’s registrants include 26 CEOs, 15 City Year teachers, 16 company presidents, and 10 people over the age of 100!

After popping out of a raft during a white river rafting trip in Maine, right before the dangerous, sharp razzor-like cribbage rock section, then hitting my head and hips on a two edge rock … making my legs numb and ingesting water, the guide told the others that I was my own. But, then the raft suddenly bounced back, and my strong younger sister pulled me back into raft, despite the guide yelling at her not to pull me back in. I cannot swim. Helmuts were not required then. Despite normal sibling fights, my younger sister is a lifesaver. She said that she needed to save me because as the time I was paying half of the rent 🙂
